Neo Geo Gold X launches December 6 for $200

The Neo Geo X has had its release date confirmed as December 6 worldwide, and that very high price has been reduced to $200. Still high, right? The deal has been sweetened somewhat, however, as each unit will ship with a replica Neo Geo console and joystick.
$200 is still very high for a portable gaming unit that only plays retro titles. The hardware isn’t anything special, either. It uses a 4.3-inch display, has 2GB of on-board storage, uses a 2200mAh rechargeable battery, and has a yet-to-be-confirmed combination of ARM chip and RAM.
The games you get pre-installed seem to have changed since March and include:
  • 3 Count Bout
  • Alpha Mission II
  • Baseball Stars II
  • Cyber-Lip
  • Fatal Fury
  • Fatal Fury Special
  • King of Monsters
  • Last Resort
  • League Bowling
  • Magician Lord
  • Metal Slug
  • Mutation Nation
  • Nam-1975
  • Puzzled
  • Real Bout – Fatal Fury Special
  • Samurai Shodown II
  • Super Sidekicks
  • The Art of Fighting II
  • The King of Fighters ’95
  • World Heroes
Depending on how Blaze choose to sell the device (direct-only, or with retail partners), I expect we’ll see it discounted quite heavily.
